Missing Las Vegas

Written by Jeremiah. No comments Posted in: Personal Post

Well, its safe to say that I’m lonely. Being in Vegas with my friends, David, Daniel, and Jason, was great for my birthday weekend. It reminded me of what it felt like to hang out with friends that actually care and want you around.

Thank you to all of them for letting me be there with you. It means a lot to me. If I could so anything to take away the pain, that David has had to deal with from his fight with cancer, I would. Him and Daniel are awesome towards one another and it was great seeing how much they care about each other.

To me it proves that real love does exist. I love you guys and hope I can see you again soon.

Standing outside the fire

Yes, it is a Garth Brooks song, but right now, it’s the best way I can describe what is going on. For my birthday, I have been in Las Vegas at my friends David and Daniel’s. David is fighting Cancer. He has a wonderful partner in Daniel. Looking in from the outside and watching how close they are is amazing.

The flame of love that they share is amazing. Daniel has been there through everything with David. From David being diagnosed with cancer, through the surgery, and now the chemo. I would say that I have no idea why I feel so emotional right now, but that would be a lie. Watching how they support each other, care about each other, love each other, is honestly amazing.

I hope someday I have someone that cares about and loves me as much as David and Daniel love each other. It makes me so mad when I hear people say that LGBT people don’t love or care about each other. That it’s just lust. That is total bullshit. People need to realize that love regardless of gender between the two people is real.

It’s not just lust, as some people claim. We truly can love each other just like anyone else can. Someday, I believe we will live in a country, a world, where people will truly be equal and be able to show there love for each other without shame or fear. Without the worry of being hurt for being true to who they are.

If we all do something we WILL reach that goal sooner rather then later.

Whats in a Word

Written by Djensen. No comments Posted in: Personal Post

So this week our President stated that he is in support of gay marriage.

So I have heard everything from “he is pandering for votes” and “This will get the votes of the young and stupid”

I pride myself on being someone who does not jump to conclusions as in my past this has bitten me in the back end.

This being said I found The President’s decision to clearly state his views on this subject rather inspiring and exciting. Why you ask? Well I believe that sometimes words backed by power or believed power or perceived power carry substantial weight.

My Hope and belief is that by just him saying it and our media giving it so much attention through this election that we will continue to make it a boring topic and pretty soon it will be the non factor like it should be. It is not affecting your faith, it is not affecting how you raise your children and the beauty of our great nation is you can work hard and choose for yourself.

Thank Mr President and Thank you America!!

President Obama has finally came out in support for EQUAL Marriage Rights for All Americans. On the heals of our defeat in NC, President Obama has finally said he personally supports Same-Sex Marriage.

“I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.” -President Obama

Already Fox News has decided to pounce on this.

Why am I not surprised. Fair and Balanced my ASS!

Yesterday I was so pissed off about Amendment 1 in NC passing. I posted here on the blog and vented my feelings. I know some in my family will never vote for President Obama. I can’t change their views. I CAN, however, do everything I can to make sure he gets re-elected. Do your part and Vote for Equality in November. I know I will be. #vote4equality

Enough is enough. These so called “Christians,” keep passing laws discriminating against gays and I’m feeling like enough is not being done on this.

President Obama says he’s evolving, while LGBT families all over this country are suffering because of religious groups are forcing THEIR beliefs on us. This is bullshit! Today Amendment 1 in NC has passed. Why in the world did this pass in 2012???

Younger people not getting out to vote? Voter fraud? Lies in the TV ads? People not caring because they think the supreme court will take care of it?

THE REASON DOESN’T MATTER! If you want to be treated equally under the law, be able to marry the person you love, and be able to be by their side, get off you damn ass and DO SOMETHING about it.

Some of you are doing something about it and I am so grateful. There are people in my family that could careless if I’m treated equally under the law. They rather vote for their wallets then equality. So be it. It hurts that you rather do that, but I can’t make you vote for me to be treated equally under the law. But I can vote for the people that will.

As it stands right now, I believe we should start Occupying the churches that use their TAX EXEMPT status to take in MILLIONS of dollars, while getting involved in politics. NO MORE MR. NICE GAY!
